Persian Sosis Pizza: A Flavorful Twist on a Classic Favorite

Pinar’s Persian Sosis Pizza is a delicious fusion of her classic pizza flavors with a Middle Eastern twist. This recipe features a crispy, golden crust topped with a unique chipotle mayo bbq sauce, a generous layer of gooey cheese, and slices of Persian-style sausages (sosis), which add an intricately spiced and savory flavor. A sprinkle of basil and a drizzle of mayonnaise—common in Iranian street-style pizza—brings everything together for a satisfying bite. Perfect for a cozy night in or sharing with friends, this pizza is a must-try for anyone who loves bold flavors and a comforting homemade meal.


Also please note that the sauce for this pizza is slightly different than my other pizza recipe. But they are both equally delicious and I recommend trying both ❤️ This recipe is not completely accurate to the original street-style Persian pizza, but I am working on a recipe that is more authentic. Cook time: 30 minutes

Total time: 1 hour 45 minutes






Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of flour

  • 1/4 cup of lukewarm water

  • 1 tsp active try yeast

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp flour


Toppings:

  • Persian sosis (as much as you want)

  • Half onion

  • 100g shredded mozarella cheese

  • 1 tbsp chipotle sauce

  • 1tbsp spicy mayo

  • Pinch of new orleans seasoning

  • Pinch of dried basil

  • Pinch of paprika


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit .

  2. Combine 1/4 cup of lukewarm water with 1 tsp of sugar and mix.

  3. Add a tbsp of active dry yeast, mix and then cover for 5 minutes.

  4. When there are some bubbles on top, add 1 cup of flour but 1/3 cup at a time.

  5. Mix, form it into a ball, leave it in an oiled & covered bowl for 1 hour. Make sure the dough rises almost twice its regular size.

  6. Cut the Persian sosis, 1/2 onion, and grate the mozzarella cheese.

  7. Uncover the dough, add 1 tbsp of flour and separate it into 2.

  8. Roll out one half (make sure to repeat all the next steps to the other half of the dough as well) on a floured surface

  9. Spread 1 tbsp of spicy mayo and 1tbsp of chipotle BBQ sauce onto the dough.

  10. Pinch the outer edges to create a crunchy crust.

  11. Put the toppings and top it off with cheese.

  12. Send it to the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.

  13. Season with new Orleans seasoning, dried basil and paprika.

  14. Slice, and enjoy!
